October is my favorite month of the year. I think it always has been. It started with my macabre love for vampire stories and Halloween as a child, when you get to dress up and be whoever you want to be, plus the compulsory bags of sweeties that came along with pretending to be a cat or a Hawaiian dancer or a witch.
